No. You don't need to find another owner who wants your vehicle at exactly the same time you want theirs. When another member uses your vehicle, you can earn Travel Credits + Cash. Your earned Credits can then be used towards another eligible vehicle in the CampervanX network.
Travel Credits are CampervanX travel value that can be used towards eligible bookings in the CampervanX network. Standard new members receive a one-time award of 500 Welcome Travel Credits, while qualifying Founding 100 members receive 1,000 Founding Travel Credits. You can earn additional Travel Credits by sharing your vehicle. Credits belong to you rather than your vehicle category, and can be used alongside cash within the range accepted for an eligible booking. Travel Credits have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for cash.
No. 50/50 is simply an example. Vehicle owners set the Travel Credits + Cash combinations they're prepared to accept, and the traveller chooses their preferred mix from the available range. Depending on the vehicle and owner settings, an eligible booking could therefore involve more Credits, more Cash, or potentially be entirely Credits or entirely Cash.
Yes. Subject to vehicle eligibility and availability, Travel Credits belong to you, not the type of vehicle you own. Credits earned by sharing a campervan can therefore be used towards an eligible motorhome or 4x4 adventure vehicle — and vice versa.
Yes. You choose when to make your vehicle available and keep your own travel dates free. You also choose which Travel Credits + Cash combinations you're prepared to accept, subject to CampervanX platform rules.
Standard CampervanX Membership is £150 per year and includes a one-time award of 500 Welcome Travel Credits. £150 per year is equivalent to £12.50 per month, but Membership is billed annually rather than monthly. Qualifying members of the Founding 100 receive their first two years of Membership free plus a one-time award of 1,000 Founding Travel Credits. Standard annual Membership applies after the two-year founding period.
CampervanX is being designed around member verification, vehicle verification, insurance and protection. Appropriate trip cover will be required before live vehicle exchanges or rentals are enabled. Specific insurance and protection arrangements will be confirmed before launch.
CampervanX is being designed to support travellers as well as vehicle owners. The planned model will allow eligible vehicles to be booked using cash where Travel Credits aren't available. Full non-owner Membership and booking options will be confirmed as CampervanX develops.
That's the plan. CampervanX is being designed to support selected rental businesses and fleet operators through a separate Commercial Partner programme. Commercial Partners will be able to make eligible campervans, motorhomes and 4x4 adventure vehicles available to CampervanX travellers through a commission-based model. Commercial Partner eligibility, commission rates and booking terms will be confirmed before the programme launches.
